We’re William Anthony and Matthew Johnson, the founders of San Antonio Home Care. This agency was born out of our experience caring for William’s grandmother, Chrissy Anthony, during the final years of her life. What started as a personal commitment to help her age with dignity in the comfort of her own home became the foundation for the kind of care we now provide to other families.
Chrissy wasn’t just a beloved grandmother. She was a familiar face to many in San Antonio. As the heart behind Sea Island Shrimp House, a family-owned restaurant that has been part of the city’s fabric for decades, she touched countless lives with her warmth, grit, and generosity. Even as her health declined, Chrissy stayed connected to the things that mattered most to her: her cooking, her community, and her faith. With the right support, she was able to keep doing what she loved.
We remained closely involved throughout her final years, including during hospice, and spent meaningful time alongside her and her caregivers. We were thankful she had the support she needed to continue living life on her own terms. With the right care in place, she was able to remain in familiar surroundings, maintain her routines, and preserve a sense of independence and joy.
That experience is what drives us. We know how important it is to keep loved ones at home, where they feel most comfortable and connected. Our goal is to provide care that brings peace of mind, respects daily life, and honors each person’s dignity.
